These tests are conducted, both confidentially and anonymously, with limited contact and increased PPE, so folks with recent HIV or HCV exposure concerns or need for follow-up testing can have some peace of mind. Recently, several clients have been first-time testers at The Center, which tells us that they are taking their sexual health seriously at this time. Our Sexual Health & Wellness Team also understood the implications of social distancing and staying at home might be for those who are sexually active and launched a virtual harm reduction campaign focused specifically on Sex in The Era of COVID-19 . This campaign outlines transmission facts, increased safety measures, and modified activities that still provide pleasure but reduce risk for coronavirus. We’ve also been able to provide sexual health risk assessments, HIV & STI education, and navigation to both PrEP and PEP via telephone and videochat. All of these Emergency Services give vulnerable community members some peace of mind about their status during this time of heightened anxiety around general health, safety, and risk due to the coronavirus pandemic.
